The DFS Technology team is seeking a Senior Business Analyst for Data Platform Department – a global role, based in Singapore. Suitable candidate will be working collaboratively with business and IT partners to develop and execute their domain technology roadmap for DFS’ ambitions across all channels. The role will entail oversight of software & partner selection, business analysis, solution design, implementation, and end-to-end service delivery. They will support team members and technology partners to work with business leaders and product owners to drive Analytics roadmap in support of DFS’ overall vision and business objectives. The candidate should possess a balance of technical depth, business acumen, and strong communication skills. Candidate should be independent, results-oriented, eager to learn and with a passion for technology. Candidate should be passionate about designing, building, and supporting data centric solutions that provides actionable insights and deepen analytics capabilities in the organization. As Senior Business Analyst candidate will be accountable for end-to-end service delivery of data platform which may include defining and enforcing governance and standards of the data platform, participate in fine tuning, troubleshooting and maintenance activities related to the data platform as the technology expert. Candidate will be responsible for requirements gathering, and business analysis processes and developing application himself/herself or with the help of vendors. This will include understanding of ETL/ELT, database design, data modelling, in cloud architecture, and working closely with data science and data visualization developers on solution design. Candidate will work with developers and product owners in business domains to drive enhancements and project initiatives. This position is considered a critical component of the wider Data Platform Team working with various locations around the world to design and implement business solutions and systems. Candidate should have global end to end data solution implementation experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with subject matter experts, data/domain business analyst teams to understand the business data and related processes. Establish the business value and work with respective teams to prioritize the use cases based on business value.
• Lead business requirements analysis for operational and corporate analytics solutions and processes, considering risk management and cost-benefit analysis.
• Conduct requirement workshop with stakeholders and analyze requirements holistically.
• Design robust and scalable solutions to meet business needs and takes operational considerations into account.
• Manage risks associated with program implementation and developing risk mitigation strategies.
• Play an active role in the project coordinating between internal resources and third parties/vendors for project execution.
• Establish and document standards, guidelines, and best practices for teams utilizing the solution.
• Participate in cross functional teams to promote technology strategies, analyze, and test products, perform proof of concepts, and pilot new technologies and or methods.
• Represent team in strategy reviews, leadership briefings, and cross organizational events.
• Analyze, tackle, and resolve day-to-day operational incidents and advisory to business users.
• Analyze systems operations data (SLAs, customer satisfaction, delivery quality, team efficiency etc.) to identify actionable trends for continual improvements. Demonstrate technical expertise in the assigned area.
• Develop and maintain excellent relationships with business stakeholders and teams from across the DFS organization.
• Partner with product owners across domains, tech leads, technology partners and cross-functional teams to implement solutions that meet the needs of the enterprise.
• Successful candidates: •Driven individuals, and possess strong working knowledge of Big Data, Data Warehouse, & Business Intelligence implementations •Expert level skills in SQL, and one of the leading BI tools •Expert level in building the data model for Data Warehouse and BI applications •Will have experience leading support for production systems with emphasis on service delivery, problem management, and the effective mitigation of technology obsolescence. •Will have experience working in a multi-vendor environment. •Will have experience managing overseas teams.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
• 7-10 years of experience designing and delivering technology solutions. Retail industry experience a plus
• Professional / technology certification is desirable Demonstrates thorough abilities and/or a proven record of success in the following areas:
• 5 or more years of experience in application development and platform management with Big Data, Data Warehouse, & Business Intelligence Solutions
• Experienced with SDLC, systems roll-outs, facilitating change management, transitions from project phase to on-going systems support.
• Operational experience and strong disciplined process knowledge in resolving production outages and maintaining application environments for support and projects.
• Strong facilitation and negotiation skills across global heavily matrixed organizations
• Ability to quickly prioritize issues/requests and be capable of personally diving deep when required to deliver solutions within an accelerated timeframe.
• Ability to work in a collaborative fashion, elevate team results over individual results.
• Excellent communication skills, presenting, listening, and informing. Can communicate up, down and across the organization.
• Retail industry experience a plus
• AWS, Hadoop Hortonworks, Snowflake, MicroStrategy, IBM DataStage, Power BI, Shell Scripts experience a plus.
