Human Resources Generalist Leadership role with responsibility for all Human Resources functions including recruitment, employment, benefits administration and employee relations (Union/Labor relations) for airport retail location. Will oversee development for two Human Resource Specialists.

Key Responsibilities:
Talent Acquisition
• Determines and utilizes creative recruiting techniques which include networking, effective advertising, job fairs, and contacts with private employment agencies, government employment agencies and community organizations for on-time deliver to fill positions as needed.
• Maintains weekly vacancy and recruitment status reports.
• Manages exempt and non-exempt positions in the stores.
• Oversees job postings and ensures that job opportunities are posted internally as appropriate.
• Coordinates temporary service needs between the managers and employment agencies.
• Conducts interviews consistent with company guidelines and prepares offer letters.
• Responsible for pre-employment processing. Arranges drug testing and conducts background and reference checks.
• Partners with Division Talent Acquisition Manager to determine best recruitment methods for positions at store level Employment
• Interprets and implements company policies and ensures consistent application of policies and procedures.
• Investigates employee complaints thoroughly and applies appropriate measures for resolution of problems.
• Processes terminations and conducts exit interviews.
• Coordinates merit process for area of responsibility.

• Interprets contract and ensures consistent application in airport location.
• Trains management on contract do’s and don’ts
• Attends and researches all information necessary to respond to grievances and attends all union grievance meetings.
• Liaison for employee and management resolutions
• Attends all union negotiation meetings
• Partners with management and legal for best employee/management resolutions Administration
• Oversees new employee health benefits orientation and enrollment.
• Provides retiree program information to eligible retirees.
• Processes Leave of Absence requests.
• Ensures timely processing of worker’s compensation claims for work injuries and customer liability claims. Maintains claim files, coordinates investigations, and represents the company at hearings.
• Ensures maintenance of OSHA (Occupational Safety Health Act) monthly log and annual report for area locations.
• Oversees maintenance of active and termination personnel files for non-exempt employees.
• Administers the Airport Badge and U.S. Customs Seal Program in compliance with Airport and U.S. Customs regulations.
• Process PAF’s and paperwork for new hires, changes in status and terminations. Training
• Conducts new employee orientation.
• Oversees coordination of training schedules for new hires.
• Facilitates training on performance evaluations, writing reviews, documentation of performance issues.
• Coaches managers on conversations with employees. Other
• Participant of Employee Engagement Committee and coordinates Summer Events, Service Award Dinner and Holiday Party.
• Provides support in payroll processing for location.
• Conducts store walk thru for business overview. Personal Characteristics

• Occasional out of town travel required Other Job Functions or Accountabilities As part of the senior leadership team, will attend weekly meetings with high participation and decision making for flagship location. Candidate will have to pass a 10-year background check and drug screen with the ability to obtain an airport badge as part of the process.

Key Requirements:
Educational Requirements
• Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Human Resources or other Business-related field with four or more years of human resources experience Work Experience
• Four years of Human Resources experience in a fast-paced work environment, preferably with union experience. Licenses/Certifications required
• SHRM-SCP/CP certification a plus Critical knowledge & skills, including software applications, languages, etc.
• Understanding of local labor laws that regulate practices such as minimum wage, workweek hours, health benefits and paid vacations.
• Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint applications knowledge of and experience in recruiting of individuals at all levels (on-site managers, sales associates, etc.) Other Qualifications – Core Competencies COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
