Under the direction of the Planning Manager, forecasts, orders and allocates one segment of a category’s product to support the category strategy in managing the supply chain for Food & Gifts of the DFS North America Division. In addition, monitors the flow of inventory to achieve gross margin plans and to maximize region and location sales and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:
Financial and Strategic Planning
• Collaborate with team on strategic direction.
• Develop the region’s seasonal sales, margin and mix plans for one segment of a category based on strategic direction and financial guidelines.
• Develop location-specific sales for one segment of a category and ratify with region plans. Tie to location profiles and assortment plans. Open-To-Buy and Purchase Order Management
• Work with GMO team on Order Confirmations to ensure accuracy and manage changes as necessary
• Manage Purchase Order information and provide direction to GMO team to ensure data integrity and consistency
• Communicate and collaborate with team on purchase decisions
• Place monthly replenishment orders for one segment of a category
• Recommend quantities to place of seasonal orders based on stock projection using unit buy plan
• Prepare relevant sales analyses and Purchase Order tools for market buys
• Assist in the preparation for Management/Vendor meetings
• Follow up on implementation for New Store Openings
• Communicate and follow up with vendors to support merchandise flow requirements Inventory Management
• Supply Replenishment & Allocation (R&A) team with appropriate initialization information to activate distribution
• Work with R&A to ensure on-order needs match location sales needs and optimal inventory levels
• Collaborate with team on promotional and event planning
• Analyze and track discontinued and expiry product; implement action plans monthly, or as needed
• Develop and recommend markdown strategy and manage markdown budgets to plan
• Communicate Clearance information and direction to Store teams
• Communicate with the divisions on shipping and stock issues
• Manage Shipping updates with Vendor and communicate to Internal team F&G Business Reviews and Analysis
• Provide analysis on the region’s F&G business issues and opportunities
• Call out opportunities on strong selling items; and issues on slow moving items Brand Relations
• Executes all aspects relating to the product ordering process
• Promotes a “win-win” approach with all brand partners Division Partner Relations
• Develops and maintains effective working partnership with divisions particularly PSMs, while ensuring divisions execute category strategy appropriately
• Drives decision-making and problem solving on the merchandise issues and location level
• Ensures team results, relationships and processes are aligned with DFS mission and values

Key Requirements:
Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree Work Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a buying and/or planning function with financial, analytical merchandising Critical knowledge & skills including tools, software applications, language, etc:
• Strong MS Window, Excel, Powerpoint, Word
• Comfortable working in merchandise planning systems
• Business fluency in English language Working Conditions / Environment:
• Able to occasionally work flexible hours including nights or weekends, as required by the needs of the business or Asia time zone meetings
• Able to occasionally travel to visit stores
