Job Description

The VP of Global Logistics and Regulatory will be entrusted with the day to day running of the Global Warehousing, Freight & Regulatory department. This position is considered critical to the organization as it will be one of the main pillars of the Global Logistics team As part of his or her core responsibilities, this person will be a key stake holder and partner to the various DFS divisions spread across the world. This role will be responsible for, but limited to, the upkeep of service levels to the divisions, overseeing and controlling OPEX cost structures, continuous improvements in throughput volumes, on-time inbound and outbound operations & timely delivery to the stores. Additionally, this position will the key contact for DFS’s Global Freight forwarders and will be responsible, along with the procurement team to ensure that DFS continues to enjoy the best freight rates through annual RFQ exercises. This position will also be entrusted with ensuring that all regulatory requirements with the import and export of goods are strictly monitored and complied with in a timeline manner across all divisions to avoid any contentious situations resulting in any monetary or reputation loss to DFS. This position will work hand in hand with the Division Store Op’s teams, Merchandising, Planning, Finance & Visual Merchandising teams to ensure smooth day to day running of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Full understanding of the scope of responsibilities and obligations of the logistics operation as set forth by the DFS business
• Work with the Merch Finance teams to build annual OPEX budgets for all warehouse, inbound and outbound freight and provide context on a regular basis on any variances to plan. Participate in regular re-forecast exercises as required by the business
• Review on a regular basis and/or establish service level agreements for all DFS warehouse, both self-run & 3PL’s and ensure that the key performance indicators are being met with.
• Participate In monthly meetings with the Management teams in the warehouses and guide them in solving operational issues and finding efficiencies
• Conduct regular visits (in person or virtually) of the DFS distribution centers and ensure that space utilization is at it’s maximum. Work with the Merchant, Planning and Store Op’s teams to ensure that the warehouses are not being cluttered with liability merchandise
• Constantly review and update standard operating procedures and work with the risk and loss preventions teams to ensure the highest levels of security at our warehouses to prevent any element of risk
• Work alongside internal logistics warehouses or 3PLs to deliver an efficient warehousing & transport solution for new business setups
• Work hand in hand with the Global Logistics team and business development to create logistics proposals & solutions for new business opportunities
• Lead meetings and communications with key stake holders regarding performance and aim to provide the highest level of services to the Store Ops teams
• Be a strong team player and partner with all facets of the organization to provide them with a seamless experience and the highest service levels.
• Ensure strict adherence to customs and regulatory requirements, ensuring that DFS is always protected

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics & Supply Chain preferred
• Six Sigma certification, APICs, Supply Chain Certification, and/or other professional certifications are a big plus.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics and supply chain, warehousing background
• Extensive experience in leading large teams and managing complex negotiations
• Knowledge and experience with applying Quality Improvement Techniques
• Multi system knowledge (WMS, ERP and data repository)
• Fluency in English. Knowledge in secondary language a huge plus (Desirable languages not limited to: Mandarin, Cantonese, French, Italian)
• Strong competencies in management of teams, logistic flows, security, and safety Proficient in MS computer applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required
