Job Description

The Team Lead (TL) Sales, is the key person in the delivery of the DFS’ vision of exceptional people delivering exceptional product. He inspires, leads and develops a cohesive and focused team that passionately creates unique and memorable, luxury service experiences for our customers and proactively builds our brand and customer loyalty while delivering sales and productivity targets.

Highly energetic, the TL coaches and updates his sales team regularly on opportunities for continuous improvement of their skills and knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Selling and the Customer Experience


• Align the customer experience to the company vision – exceptional people delivering exceptional product

• Work with Product Sales Manager (PSM) in driving sales through action sales, clearance, promotions, and incentive targets with passion

• Focus on ways to increase and continually improve conversion from non-buying to buying, spend per transaction and average units per sale.

• Support sales floor to ensure a high energy, positive floor experience for staff and customers

• Observe, coach and react to continually improve customer experience and team productivity

• Manage team visibility on the shop floor for optimal staffing and floor coverage

• Work with the Platinum Services team to enhance the customer experience

2. Team & Service Management

• Ensure sales team members have clear goals and objectives on the customer experience and productivity targets

• Supervise, coach and train the sales team on a daily basis to help produce consistent growth in skills, competencies and product knowledge

• Share success stories and tips among the sales team

• Create and promote a positive work environment in line with DFS values

• Assist the PSM in sales staff retention, development and job satisfaction levels

• Assist the PSM in identifying future potential Team Leads and ensure development plans for this talent

3. Product Management

• Assist the PSM as a primary communication link between product merchants and the customer through providing timely feedback

• Maintain a very high standard of product and brand knowledge in the team

• Ensure floor presentation meets or exceeds brand and DFS requirements

4. General

• Actively promote the DFS brand and a strong positive professional image at all times

• Complete internal reports and participate in various projects as and when required


• Supervise team compliance with all company policies and procedures, Customs regulations and relevant trading laws, raising any concerns or issues when necessary

• Perform any other duties as requested in a diligent and conscientious manner

Key Requirements:
Education: Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Critical Skills: Fluency in English and other languages as required by location
Work experience: At least 3 years' team leadership experience within retail/service industry preferred
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
o Must have strong interpersonal skills, team oriented and be able to
work well with personnel at various levels
o Able to multi-task with good composure under pressure
o Energetic, resourceful and proactive team member
o Must have strong problem-solving skills
o Professional in appearance, demeanor and language
o Proficient in using MS tools, including Excel, Word & Powerpoint
