Job Description

Purpose and Objective of Position
• Successfully Lead a team of seasoned Project Managers, to set-up, manage, coordinate, and deliver multiple DFS projects to a high quality, innovative design, on time and on budget
• To control and take ownership for all aspects of project from inception through to completion with the support of the brand project managers, design managers and cost teams.
• Ensuring site activities are executed so that original design and planning intent is implemented
• Guide on local applications, rules, regulations, and method of works, to ensure all potential issues are flagged properly and resolved timely
• Oversee and manage site construction teams, both DFS and Brand’s specific
• Ensure your team provide quick and effective solutions to progress the projects to completion.
• Be final responsible for all tendering, contract administration, and cost control during the design, tendering and construction process
• Help implement the process and new SOP inside and outside the Store Dev Dept.

Key Responsibilities:
Working with the design and cost leaders to build consultants team base as required through RFP and tender process and ensure proper integration with landlord’s consultant teams
• Ensure all brand coordination for Vendor Package preparation and presentation is complete, through Design and Merchants
• Build and maintain strong relationship with landlords and or local contacts
• Manage the project brief to ensure that all aspects are managed and maintained through the concept, design development, tender and construction phases
• Lead project managers and their attendance to all project update meetings
• Coordinate, monitor, and report on projects budget status
• Participate on QS Costing
• Lead and manage all external consultants through all phases of project
• Ensure that all consultants and contractors are adhering to all necessary local codes and regulations as well as DFS rules and regulations and DOA’s
• Lead contractor interview and tendering process
• Obtain all necessary information to enable construction to commence and complete without disruption
• Ensure that shop drawings from contractors are reviewed by DFS design team and by consultant teams
• Lead and manage the execution of construction works both generic DFS designed zones and Brand’s personalized spaces.
•Including but not limited to coordinating with: - Brand direct suppliers and Brand consultants team - Store Operations, Merchandising, IT, Loss Prevention and Visual Merchandizing departments
• Ensure the corporate office is updated on a regular basis through project meeting and weekly reports
• Anticipate and react to all conditions that may impact project budget or timelines

Key Requirements:

• College Degree in Construction Project Management, Architecture, or Engineering preferred
• Minimum 10 years’ experience within the field of Architecture or Project Management
• Proficiency with computer programs (Words, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, AutoCAD, Project)
• Must be an accomplished leader and have experience leading PM teams, building rapport and managing relationships with C-level internal stakeholders, delivering projects remotely (at least for until global travel opens back up), and some experience of managing projects in mainland China.
• Ability to lead complex luxury retail projects from inception through to completion
• Good Design and Construction sense and ability to read complex and detailed architectural and services drawings
• Architectural or Project Management experience preferred, Engineering experience acceptable
• Solid understanding of ability to deal with various Building Codes
• Excellent Organizational Skills
• Strong Oral & written communication skills English essential with Mandarin a preference
• Good interpersonal, leadership and management skills, with ability to lead a large global team of consultants
• Contract negotiation skills
• Ability to excel in conflict management and excel in dealing with complex and varied stakeholder matrix.
• Able to deal positively and productively with complaints, conflicts, and requests for service
• Good analytical skills: able to accurately compile statistical data and to detect inconsistencies in presented data
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• Self-starter; able to adapt to changing priorities and work on multiple projects
