Job Description

The Logistics Director will have comprehensive oversight over the logistics operation in an allocated region and will act as a representative for the logistics department in projects, including new business ventures, systems implementations, as well as taking the lead on core logistics and supply chain initiatives.
• The director will be responsible for the overall excellence of the logistics flow in the region, and ensuring smooth management of distribution centers, local warehouses, financials and the logistics infrastructure. The director will oversee the logistics activities and management of the logistics team to ensure safe, efficient and compliant warehouse operations. The director will develop effective partnerships within DFS and Partners of DFS through regular communication, meetings, and will create a strong alignment with DFS’s goals and objectives needed to achieve the group and department objectives. Within these areas, the director will work in collaboration with the logistics, regulatory, operations, IT, technology partners, and 3rd party logistics providers to deliver solutions that fit the business requirements.
• The director will assist to develop key performance indicators “KPIs” for the logistics team, warehouse, and create standard operating procedures in collaboration with the wider logistics organization, as well as conduct RFP/RFQ exercises, market research and assist to drive the success of logistics projects.

Key Responsibilities:
Logistics/Supply Chain Project Management •- Full understanding of the scope of responsibilities and obligations of the logistics operation as set forth by the DFS business and ensure efficient and legally compliant logistics operations. •- Plan, execute and deliver project activities according to timelines & business requirements and ensure the global logistics projects are delivered as per plan. •- Implement responsibilities for the logistics team that are clear and well-defined. •- Create KPI’s to ensure operational focus and optimal performance. Conduct regular status and improvement meetings with 3rd party providers, freight forwarders and DFS partners. •- Work alongside internal logistics warehouses or 3PLs to deliver an efficient warehousing & transport solution for new business setups. •- Represent the logistics department alongside business development to create logistics proposals & solutions for new business opportunities. •- Lead meetings and communications regarding performance, distribution status, and project status. •- Maintain effective communications and relations with the logistics team and wider organization. Ensure issues and problems are resolved in a timely and professional manner. •- Participates and provides input into the terms and conditions, and cost management ( P&L) and service agreements for logistics service providers. -Focus on continuous improvement to reduce cost of operating and increase efficiency, accuracy, and productivity. - Conduct structured RFP/RFQ exercises and identify partnerships for 3PL, 4PL, Transportation services and freight forwarders . -Creating budgets and cost exercises for existing warehouses or new projects. Create capital expenditure documents for management review, approval, and tracking project costs to ensure budgets are achieved. Current Logistics Projects and Initiatives
• Implementation of a control tower: setting a 4PL operation for the DFS international shipments
• Replacement of WMS; DFS has its logistics operations in-house and is looking to implement JDA WMS Business Process within warehouse to be reviewed and engineered based on JDA standard solution
• Core Logistics Projects 1. The relocation of an existing distribution center 2. Exploring warehouse automation, and conducting a global logistics footprint & infrastructure review to build the logistics of the future for DFS 3. New business setups in a number of countries

Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics or Supply Chain Management preferred or in a relevant academic area such as Engineering, Accounting, etc. - Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics and supply chain, warehousing background is a plus. - Exposure to projects and change management. - Background in IT can be considered if it is within Supply Chain. - Multi system knowledge (WMS, ERP and data repository) - Fluency in English - Strong competencies in management of teams, in logistic flows, stock control, security, and safety. - Knowledge and experience with applying Quality Improvement Techniques. Six Sigma certification, APICs, Supply Chain Certification, and/or other professional certifications are a plus. - Proficient in MS computer applications (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) required
