Job Description

The role of the Digital Design Manager is to create engaging & experiential content & designs throughout the digital customer journey that reflects our DFS brand positioning as “The World Traveler’s Luxury Retailer. Since 1960.”

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead creative strategies, concepts, and content that meet our business objectives.
• Act as the centralized subject-matter-expert on all digital content requests within the organization.
• Maintain an elevated and consistent visual vocabulary that reflects our brand’s luxury positioning and luxurious tone-of-voice throughout an omni-channel customer journey.
• Incorporate & infuse market trends & insight into our concepts — integrating technology with art & commerce to ensure a balance of creativity & functionality with editorial & commercial value.
• Create global & local customer-facing content (both static & dynamic) across our channels including personalization & segmentation opportunities, while ensuring O2O connectivity for offline touchpoints: •Online Channels & Touchpoints — Website, EDM, E-Commerce, Social Media (Facebook, Instagram), Media Buys, Online Catalogs & Gift Guides, etc. •Offline Channels & Touchpoints — In-Store Digital LED Screens, Interactive Applications, OOH Media, etc. •Content Types — DFS Masterbrand Content, Seasonal Campaigns, Branded Content, Product & Category Stories, Editorial Content (Brand Ambassador Editorial & Interviews, Travel Guides), Retail Experiences, Events & Promotions, Loyalty Programs & Services, Artful & Experiential Content, etc.
• Content planning for our DFS calendar — while collaborating closely with key stakeholders and cross-functional teams across marketing, merchandising, and operations from corporate to division, to ensure our content is envisioned & implemented successfully, balancing their priorities.
• Manage end-to-end production lifecycle of creative content and assets from concept to execution (ideation, pre-production, photo & video shoots, post-production, design & adaptations, etc.)
• Source, review, evaluate, and manage external agency partners and talent, while continuing to build relationships with vendors & contributors, including managing budgets.
• Ability to lead internal and external stakeholders & partners to achieve company objectives & goals.
• Ability to mentor our designers to help them gain further expertise within digital design.
• Constant refining of technical skills per industry best practices & standards.

Key Requirements:
• Bachelor’s university degree or equivalent
• At least 5-7 years of experience
• Excellent written & spoken English communication skills
• Fluency in Simplified & Traditional Chinese (preferred)
• Expertise in Adobe XD, Adobe Creative Suite, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, PowerPoint
• Experience in managing designers & external vendors
• Proven track-record with experience in an advertising agency or luxury retail environment
• Enthusiastic, entrepreneurial, highly creative & curious
• Conceptual thinker with ability to evaluate & judge creative copy writing for luxury retail
• Elevated visual aesthetic with a strong customer-centric point-of-view
• Ability to conceptualize & create content holistically across online & offline channels
• Solid understanding of current web platform, interaction design, and usability principles
• Knowledge of UI/UX design, wire framing, GUI (screen layout & composition) style guide implementation — with the ability to create beautiful, dynamic & intuitive user interfaces
• Strong portfolio demonstrating ability in concepting & designing elevated experiences for luxury retail
• Proficiency in Western & China digital & social media trends (WeChat, XHS, etc.)
• Ability to prioritize & manage multiple projects within a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Ability to collaborate well within a global & multi-cultural team
